Haiku Poems, Buddhist Friendship

Home

These poems are written by myself, a Buddhist woman and follower of Kuan Yin.  Some of them are to a new friend, also a Buddhist.

They follow the technical form of 14 syllables, or 5-7-5, 17 syllables.

I published much poetry in Canadian literary journals, but stopped to do visual arts, and just begin with haiku.

First Impressions
for Xiang Zi

Your music shakes the building
Your cat runs wildly
Your eyes so gentle.

A Pure Spirit: Lit From Within
for Xiang Zi

You run on white sand beaches
the sun behind you
the sun inside of you.

Thoughts Of You
for Xiang Zi

Hooded eyes, full lips
I think often of your face
your smile like the sun.
